<Left Books> Editing the annals of the story of the Left's emergence in Tripura, through the Janasiksha Samiti and other mass activities, as written by one of its leaders - Dasarath Deb later of the CPIM and of course Chief Minister of Tripura. This is Communist history at its best - a deep love for the people, a searching eye for the lineaments of oppression, an honest assessment of the successes and failures of the struggle. The two short books, which we at LeftWord Books will produce as one volume, have been ably translated by Saqib Khan and will be introduced by Professor Mahadev Chakravarti - with a preface by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
Sudhanva, Suvendu and the rest of the team are hard at work getting the May Day Bookstore & Cafe for the annual May Day extravaganza. This year's event will feature Annie Koshi, Saif Mahmood, Rahul Ram, Sanjna Kapoor, Vqueeram Aditya Sahai, Sanjeev Kumar, Dhwani Vij, Sumangala Damodaran, Mukul Manglik and Jana Sanskriti.
